Kauai the Garden Island

01/17/2016 | by Yen Upson | Kauai

I moved to paradise 14 years ago and the minute we drove out of Lihue airport and on to Kuhio highway,  the first thing that came to my mind was “wow, its so green”… This is why Kauai is called the Garden Island. Did you know that Kauai is the oldest of the main Hawaiian islands, which is why it has the most lush landscape amongst all the other islands. Did you also know that Mount Wai’ale’ale (meaning “Rippling Waters”) on Kauai is one of the wettest spots on earth averaging about 450 inches of rainfall per year! Hanalei Bay on Kauai’s northsore is a crescent shaped bay that’s two miles long. Considered one of the best beaches in the US, this white sand beach is great for swimming, surfing, body boarding, paddling and just a great beach to chill with family and friends. Wouldn’t you want to come visit this beautiful place?
