Description
On the Big Island, white sandy beaches are relatively rare given the young age of our island. Among the few that grace our
gold coast, Waialea Bay or Beach 69 is one of the favorites. The marine protected bay features numerous coves lined with
shade trees and punctuated by turquoise water. Snorkeling, surfing, and relaxing are the way of life here. Whales swim by in
the winter, you can hear them as you dive into the water of the bay. Only a few homes exist on this beach, and nestled on
one of the best coves is where you find Hui Pu, a family compound that seamlessly combines beachfront living with Polynesian
architecture. The property has two legal homes and is a popular vacation rental that has secured its STVR (short term
vacation rental approval). The front home is a cottage with a sleeping loft and a balcony upstairs and down that overlooks the
Pacific Ocean. Connected by covered lanai is the back home, a larger two-story 3 bedroom 3 bath with equally great views.
The beautifully landscaped 17,717 sq ft lot features rock walls and outdoor showers. This private gated subdivision is close to
Puako, yet a world away. Hapuna Beach is a short walk along the King’s trail, and all the hotel amenities of the Kohala Coast
are at your fingertips. A home on this beach is a rare find, everyone knows Waialea is one of the best-kept secrets on the Big Island.
