Blue Orca by Gather is an oceanfront single-story Big Island vacation home complete with a spacious 3-bedroom and 2.5-bathroom layout. Adjacent to the 2nd hole green along the lush Kona Country Club’s Makai Golf Course, this home is perfect for families who want spectacular views of tropical-inspired fairways and the dazzling Pacific. This luxury vacation rental features an open floor plan with rich, custom wood pocket doors that open up to an oversized, covered lanai.
Blue Orca boasts a delightful living space with unique accommodations and an idyllic location near Keauhou Bay, the best beach on the Big Island to swim with manta rays. While staying here, you’ll have easy access to gorgeous beaches like White Sands Beach Park, Kua Bay, and Makalawena. Attractions such as oceanfront golf, the Kealakekua Bay marine sanctuary, hiking opportunities, waterfalls, and numerous restaurants and shopping options are also nearby.
Holua Kai's Plantation-style homes have been specifically designed to merge indoor and outdoor spaces thanks to their large open floor plans that maximize natural lighting and ventilation. While the house is additionally equipped with central A/C for those uncharacteristically warm days, the windows can remain open to allow the cooling trade winds to aerate the home. When you venture outside, you’ll surely be mesmerized by the unobstructed cobalt-blue ocean views from your custom in-ground swimming pool and spa.
The spacious kitchen island includes custom Bordeaux Dream Granite slab countertops and glass backsplash, a GE Monogram Pro stainless steel appliance package, under-cabinet LED lighting, and solid wood cabinetry with soft-close drawers and doors. Beautiful tile can be found throughout the living, dining, and kitchen areas and the furnishings have been carefully selected by a professional decorator.
Blue Orca is able to accommodate up to 8 guests due to its 3-bedroom layout. The Primary Suite comes complete with a King-size bed and an ensuite featuring a large, free-standing soaking tub, walk-in shower, and split vanities accented by solid granite countertops. The additional guest bedrooms feature King-size bedroom layouts and a shared full bathroom. Extra sleeping space can be found in the living room, thanks to the comfortable Queen-size sleeper sofa available there. With all of the unique amenities you’ll find at Blue Orca, this space will feel like your Hawaiian home away from home.
Please note that 7 private tennis and 20 pickleball courts are available for guest use for an additional fee. Of those facilities, 5 tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts have lights. Court Rentals are $25/hour per court for non-members. If you'd like to become a member of the Holua Kai community, the court rental fee will be waived. To book a private tennis or pickleball court, guests may call or text Holua Kai's shop phone, and let them know of the day and time you are planning to play. A member of Holua Kai's community team will let you know which court(s) are available.
Drop-in, Open Pickleball Play Schedule @ Holua Racquet and Paddle: Every drop-in play is open to members and non-members alike. Non-members pay $10/person for each open play they join. For example, if you play in the 8 AM open play and pay $10/person, an additional $10/person for the afternoon play will apply. However, the Holua Kai community offers weekly, monthly, and more membership rates. If interested, please contact Holua Kai's shop for applicable rates.

This property is as beautiful as it looks in the listing! House was very clean upon arrival and had eveything we needed during our stay. Kitchen was very well appointed and having a starter stock of all supplies such as detergents, coffee, paper towels etc was great. (We didnt have to buy any additional items) Beautiful sunsets, awesome pool days, relaxing bedrooms and accessible laundry. Welcome items were a nice and an unexpected touch. Loved the geckos on the fence in the am, the cute black, white and red birds that visited daily and the goats on the rocks in the am and pm. Even when it was a bit windy in Kona town, the backyard felt well sheltered from the wind and we had a great pool day. We brought our own pool floats that are net, hammock style with inflatable ends. They blow up easily and pack flat and were great to have. There was a boogie board, and a pool tube in the pool box and I think there was also an infant pool float there too. We brought our own floats so didnt look too much at pool supplies. We appeeciated the cooler, straw mats, beach towels and beach chairs that were available. They had some snorkel stuff too in the pool box, but we had our own, so we didnt really make note of what was in there. This was our best Hawaii VRBO experience yet. We loved this property and do not have one complaint. If you like what you see in the listing, go ahead and book it. I dont think you will be dissapointed. Mahalo to the hosts and Aloha!

The pool was the grandkids favorite. We could only get them out to eat and sleep! The property was secluded and quiet, which made it very relaxing. We will be back!

It was the perfect accommodation to relax with my family. The children had really fun in the swimming pool which is better than a hotel's. I will definitely visit again!

We did all our cooking there and loved the professional grade appliances and huge kitchen. The best part was waking up every morning to a gorgeous golf course/ocean view and of course hitting the private pool and spa.
Working with Elite was such a positive, well organized experience and we felt totally looked after in every way. We were even granted a late departure at the last minute which was so appreciated. We will definitely book through Elite again!!

This was one of the best places we’ve stayed at. The beds had high-end bedding and were very comfortable. The kitchen was incredible. The owners stocked it better than any place we’ve ever stayed at. The backyard is stunning with lime green lizards everywhere, it was awesome. My only complaint about the back yard was the hedge, it blocks the ocean view from the lounge chairs. The house was easy to get to and right next to the docs for the snorkeling tours. If we visit this island again, we know where to stay. I can’t recommend enough.

Great place
by katherine FLoved the place. It was clean and all amenities available. The pool and hot tub were fully utilized and enjoyed. All around a great place. The only improvement I would make is the view. It looks out to the water and could have a fabulous view except that there are a row of bougainvillea which although pretty completely obstructed the view of the water. It would’ve been a fantastic view if they were not there.
Perfect perch above the fairway and water beyond
by Andrew MThis house is immaculate and is exactly as it is represented online. The management team is unbelievably responsive, hosting us and taking care of the property as though it was their own. Mattresses and linens were great, which is always a concern for us when we book a new property. The stock of paper goods, garbage sacks, dish and clothes washer soap, soaps and shampoos lasted us for our full week. The kitchen is stocked with everything one would need to bake, cook and entertain. Beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella and boogie boards are provided. This house would meet the needs of most any guest. Thanks to the management and owner. A++ …and Mele Kalikimaka of course!!
