Mauna Lani: Oceanside luxury villas and homes within Mauna Lani Bay
Come and let your stress melt away at our Mauna Lani Bay vacation rentals. Located 30 minutes from Kona International Airport on the Kohala Coast, it is the perfect place to relax and experience all the wonders of the Big Island.
Mauna Lani Bay luxury vacation homes are set against a tropical oasis backdrop. The Kohala Coast region is home to dramatic lava fields, spectacular beaches, and stunning world-class resorts.
Fine dining, historic walks, and exceptional golf courses are all at your fingertips when you stay at one of our Mauna Lani luxury homes or villas. Within the resort area you’ll find a variety of restaurants to suit your tastes; Brown’s Beach House offers upscale dining with fresh island ingredients, Monstera serves Japanese influenced cuisine, and Under the Bodhi Tree expertly crafts vegetarian and vegan dishes using locally sourced ingredients.
Those looking to take in a little Hawaiian history will enjoy nearby Puako Petroglyph Preserve which is home to over 3,000 ancient images carved into rocks along the trail. The Kalahuipua’a Fishponds are not only beautiful to experience, they are a deeply spiritual oasis. The seven ponds that make up the fishponds pre-date Western contact with the ancient Hawaiians that inhabited the area of Mauna Lani. The ancient aquaculture system was created for raising mullet, milkfish, shrimp, and other sea creatures solely for the Ali’i (royalty.)
Mauna Lani Bay rentals have access to the resort’s famed South Course, named 2017 Golf Week Magazine’s Best Course to Play. This exciting course is a thrilling test of skill and includes one of the most photographed over-the-water golf course holes in the world. The Kohala Coast has excellent weather for golfing or lounging on the beach.
The white sandy beaches of Mauna Lani Bay provide the ultimate Hawaiian getaway. Relax on Makaiwa Bay or stroll along the shoreline. If you’re looking for ocean adventure from your beachside rental, take a stand up paddleboard out on the bay or book a private boat charter. Whether you are sipping hand-crafted cocktails from your beach chair or exploring Kalahuipuaa Fish Ponds, our beach home rentals put you in the center of it all.
Each year Mauna Lani receives juvenile Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu) and raises them in the saltwater ponds of Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. The turtles are cared for until they reach an appropriate size and weight to be released into the wild. Every year on July 4th, the turtles are released in a grand ceremony. This family-friendly event is a wonderful way of learning about the Honu and learning about the Hawaiian green sea turtle while on vacation. November is also a great time to vacation at Mauna Lani when The Shops at Mauna Lani hosts their annual “Uncorked” Food and Wine Festival featuring local chefs and spirits.
Mauna Lani is full of ways to have a relaxing Hawaiian vacation while still experiencing the culture, food, and nature that makes the Big Island such a popular vacation destination.
