Nestled alongside the gentle aqua waves of west Maui’s warm waters, the small two-story Hale Kai Resort promises never-ending beach days and year-round sunset views. This ground floor condominium unit, ideal for either a couple or a small family, is adjacent to a large public park with picnic tables and tall, leafy trees and just steps away from two separate small beaches, one on each side of the resort. The amenities at Hale Kai will tempt you to stay close to home base, but the vibrant town of Lahaina, with its splashy lu’aus and eclectic main street, will beckon you to come out and play.
This unit opens to a family friendly park that is adjacent to a great local coffee spot and farmer’s market. Enjoy the Hawaiian style set up of this unit, which features a full kitchen and a comfortable lounge area. Feel the ocean breeze against your skin as you have your morning coffee on the outdoor table under the shade of the covered lanai or lay out on the chaise lounge for an afternoon nap. Back inside, the unit’s bedroom includes a queen-size bed and a walk-in closet to store all your items, as well as a full-size bathroom.
Those staying at Hale Kai 109 are undoubtedly drawn to the ocean, and you’ll get your fair share at the resort’s oceanside pool. Sun yourself on one of the pool deck’s numerous loungers as you listen to the waves lap up against the shore. The view of nearby Moloka’i along the horizon is the perfect backdrop to grill up some fresh fish on the BBQs available along the pool deck. Make your way down the stairs to the beach just below the pool to splash around in the calm waters of the warm Pacific Ocean. The resort also offers other convenient amenities such as coin laundry and free parking for one vehicle so you can get out and explore.
When you’re ready to venture out, stroll along historic Front Street, and browse the large range of shops there, from reasonable souvenir shops to high-end art galleries. Be sure to get a photo in front of the impressive Lahaina Banyan Tree, one of the largest in the country, located along Front Street near Lahaina Harbor. Then head to the harbor to get onboard an Atlantis Submarine, where you’ll discover a variety of tropical fish amidst an underwater shipwreck. Finally, take your pick of one of the many fantastic lu’au offerings that Maui has to offer. In addition to authentic Hawaiian song and dance, you’re treated to some of the most popular Hawaiian delicacies. Bring your appetite and your adventurous spirit and enjoy a truly magical experience!

The proximity to a beach right in front of the property. The property had most of the things that we needed but it was a bit old and in need of a renovation.

The location can’t be beat, in my opinion. Right on the beach. It’s an older building, so it’s not fancy, but that’s not really the point, is it? Neighbors were great Little bit noisy but it’s a fairly busy area. Totally manageable. The bathroom is a little tight. Beds were comfortable. Would recommend.

It was a great place to stay
by Megan CThe beach was right outside the back porch, we watched the sunset every night and fell asleep to the waves crashing. It's also walking distance to Fish Market Maui and Bad Ass Coffee. 10 min drive to Front Street and Kapalua Bay. The place also comes with beach essentials! It was a great place to stay.

We couldn’t ask for more with the coffee shops down the street, the local food market as well as restaurants and food trucks all within walking distance. Would recommend this location to everyone!

by Niko TThe condo is perfectly located and comfortable for our family of 3. There are 2 beaches touching the property. One better for a swim out/ snorkel and one for a shallow dip and perfect for kids. Sea Turtles galore. The pool sits next to one of the beaches overlooking the ocean and is a great size for many people to enjoy. The property is located near restaurants and groceries and is easily walkable to anything you could need. You can also walk to other areas 1.5 mi north or south with ease and check out different beaches. There are lots of cute eateries and a food truck area nearby as well. We stayed for a week and never needing a car. I can’t say enough about this quiet area and the ideal setting for this condo to enjoy a perfect get away. We loved everything and Charles was super welcoming and helpful making it even better. We will be back the next time we need an easy, mellow recharge.

We loved our stay
by Jen JWe loved our stay. It had breathtaking views and the place seemed very clean. It isn't fancy and it's not huge but the price was good compared to other places. There were 2 adults and 2 young children staying in the place. It was a little crowded but doable. The park was loud a couple of nights and there was a baby in the next condo over that woke up several times a night. Overall, it was a good place to stay. We wished we could have stayed longer, it was hard leaving such a beautiful place.

Nice, clean, and quiet. My wife and I had a great time staying here. The location is excellent for watching the sunset. The park nextdoor was generally quiet. Within walking distance to multiple restaurants and shops. Short drives to everything in West Maui. Great place if you don't want to feel surrounded by big resorts.
This is a fantastic location that is walking distance to everything you could ever need. Also, the beach and park are amazing quiet and you can hear the waves hitting the sand all day and night! A great spot for anyone looking to escape.
This property is RIGHT on the beach. We enjoyed nights and evenings sitting on the lanai watching the ocean, days by the pool and private beach watching sea-life including tons of whales. It is also very walkable to coffee shops and restaurants. We loved the Cruisin' Cafe for light breakfast. The inside of the property is nothing fancy but the ocean views made this a perfect stay for us. The beach chairs and umbrella were a great feature as well.
