Hale Luana (Big Island)

THERE IS NO SALTWATER POOL at this house, not sure why this place would advertise this in the title of the booking. It also says "hot tub" there was one, but it was not in service. The house itself was nice. Big deck. Big Rooms. The owners who live on the property were very nice and friendly, they were lovely. However, we also arrived to a completely dirty house, with used towels in every room, unmade beds, etc. They tried to help quickly resolve the issue. but we made our beds the first night and cleaners were able to come the next night. Gather the company was very responsive and helpful and answered are calls right away. It's unfortunate this happened. Thank you for dealing with things so well and promptly.

Loved our stay! Place and location were amazing. Quiet and out of the way with great views, but super close to Honoka’a and Waimea, with restaurants and grocery stores. And only 45 min from great west side beaches. Place was perfectly clean, contrary to some previous reviews, and well stocked. Hosts were friendly and communicative (via text) but definitely gave us privacy. I wouldn’t even have known that they were on site. Biggest complaint was being woken up at 3am by the neighborhood roosters, but I can’t blame the hosts for that. 🙂 As of this review the listing mentions a pool, but there isn’t one. Just a hot tub. But that didn’t bother us in the least. Would definitely return.

Ideal for us. Well equipped, property manager was extremely pleasant and always available. Would recommend it and gladly rebook for visiting family from out of state.

My friends and I booked a house for three days on Big Island. Initially I was a bit concerned as there were different company names used during the enquiry and booking process (Elite Pacific and Gather Vacations) however once we arrived I was very pleased with my choice. The house was wonderful, a beautiful space and very clear as well, and the communication was fantastic. I would definitely rent through Elite Pacific again.

Phenomenal!!! Beautiful kitchen that allowed us to cook almost every single meal while we were in Hawaii. So peaceful and serene! We cannot wait to come back!!!

Words cannot express how amazing this place was. our son "eloped" and the only people invited was us. the 4 people staying in your home. the day of marriage our daughter in law said "can we do the ceremony here with this beautiful view?" so we did! it was very intimate and your home will always hold a special place in all our hearts!

Lovely place! Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable beds, great deck and kitchen. Quiet home base for exploring this side of the island.

Honokaa house was everything it promised to be . We loved the location, the house is beautiful, and comfortable, we loved the sunrise view from the lanai Can’t wait for our next visit

This property was exactly as advertised. Very nice!!! Spacious beautiful home with a great view. I loved waking up to the roosters crowing. Remote, but an easy drive to activities and sight seeing on the island. We would definitely stay here again. The ocean breeze cooled the house nicely in the evenings. Wonderful place to relax and unwind. Property managers/caretaker lives on the property and was available to answer any questions we had.

Beautiful home away from home, amazing view, spacious rooms and extremely helpful host. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Hawaii

Lovely, bright home in quiet rural neighborhood. Kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. It's perfect.

Paauhaua is a small community between Wiamea and Hilo (40 miles) The property has fabulous ocean views, but no access. You will be driving to the island's attractions be it volcano, waterfall or beach. Very peaceful with nature all around, fresh ocean breezes and ample lanai make outdoor dining a pleasure. Well-appointed kitchen in open floor plan with dining and living area. Master suite and additional bedroom suite open onto the ocean facing lanai. Sufficient room for our six adults to stretch out and have privacy.

This house is amazing!! While it was further out of Waimea than anticipated it was a blessing! Big family dinners each night. Coffee on the Lanai every morning with the light drizzle, breeze and ocean view. House is well appointed from kitchen to beach towels and toys ( no need to pack this stuff). The rooms are all so comfortable with fans and/or screen doors for fresh air. 45 minutes to Holland an hour to Kona it is perfectly placed. Stay here — you will not regret it

Best equipped house we’ve ever stayed in. Such thoughtful touches! The lanai, the view, that amazing kitchen - we were so sad to leave!!! Beds were comfy, breezes constantly, books everywhere - we just couldn’t love this house more! The location is a bit remote but we didn’t mind it at all - it felt like a real getaway! And waipi’o valley and pololu valley were so beautiful!

Nice spacious house and we enjoyed our week long stay. The owners have have kept it very well and stocked with all kinds of necessary items in the Kitchen, kids beach activity etc. There are mosquitoes and bugs you see here and there, but again, being a tropical climate that is everywhere and to be expected.

Louise and James have a wonderful place on the Hamakua coast on former sugar cane land. Situated a few hundred feet off the ocean, we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets as well (although the sun sets over Kohala, the glow of the clouds over the ocean is magical). It’s not close to the beach, but it’s well situated on the big island for day trips to Kilauea, Mauna Kea, the Pololu trail, and Waipio valley is just a short drive away. Nearby Honokaa is not a big town but has everything you need, including early mornings at Tex’s Drive in and evenings at the Honokaa Public house. The house itself is extremely well equipped, with high end kitchen appliances and items like cheeseboards and espresso machines that you’d rarely see in a rental. The expansive lanai was a favorite hangout spot of ours. The master bath is something you need to see to experience. His and hers walk in closets and a double shower. Louise and James are friendly hosts who will be there when you need them but otherwise you may forget there are others on the several acre, well maintained property. After a couple days on the Kona side, what a relaxing way to escape from all the (other) tourists!

Hamakua is a special place and this neighborhood and property allow you to experience one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Quiet and peaceful. This is a place to come to relax and enjoy nature and respect Hawaii and the Hamakua ways.

The place was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location was awesome -- 360 degree beautiful views. The host was very responsive and nice. Would book again!

My family and I booked a vacation through Elite Pacific Vacations on the Big Island of Hawaii. The entire process from beginning to the end was great, the entire staff helped us with anything that we needed before and during our stay. I would definitely book through Elite again. We had the best Christmas and New Years Eve on the island, and can not wait to go back and do it again!

I loved being on the lanai and gazing out towards the trees and ocean on the horizon, listening to the wind. A quiet and serene environment. And the hot tub was a wonderful perk!
