Hale Makai at Diamond Head

The location was perfect. Home was very clean, beds comfortable, and view was amazing. There is a walkway to a beach that is not a tourist beach which was nice. The kids loved the pool too!

Absolutely stunning home, gorgeous location, and responsive, friendly hosts!  We couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our family of six.  The layout made it feel very spacious, and the air conditioning kept all rooms comfortable and cooled the house quickly when we chose to use it.  Easy access to the beach and everything we could think of was provided and available at the house.  We’d love to stay here again!

Beautiful house and set up perfectly for a family- the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking and glassware we needed. We love how open the space is and how clean it is. The pool was lovely and the front yard breathtakingly beautiful. The host was very responsive and when we had questions we always got a quick and clear response. Definitely will come again.

Had a great time at Hale Makai. Having the concierge service to contact with any issues was a great bonus. The views are stunning, the pool is a great alternative as you can't swim right out front. Easy walk to many places such as parks or down to Waikiki. We hosted a family gathering for my extended family from Australia one evening and booked the Private Chefs on offer for the night. It was brilliant! To bring family together in such a great setting was the perfect end to our family reunion.

Gorgeous home, spacious living area with huge breakfast bar and dining table. Kitchen very well equipped. Location on the ocean was spectacular. Very quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to outskirts of Waikiki. Everything you could possibly need for a fantastic Hawaiian vacation. My family loved it!

Any issues we had were taken care of right away. Beautiful property highly recommended.

One of our favorite AirBnbs we’ve ever stayed in! The house was gorgeous, exactly as pictured (if not better). The location was amazing, 5 min for everything we wanted to visit in Honolulu. The team was fantastic, helped me arrange baby equipment rental and in house massages. Perfect size for our group (three adults, two kids). Stocked with everything you would need for a visit, we stayed a week. The pool and house were immaculately cleaned.

The communication from the host was above and beyond what we expected. Check-in was done remotely with key-less entry to the property. The property is set off the main road and is extremely private. And the property itself was breathtaking. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed cooling off during the day in the pool, and listening to the waves crash on shore at night. Thanks to the open design of the kitchen (with an amazing view of the sea), dining area, and family room, cooking each night became a family affair. We had one minor issue with the garage during our stay, and thanks to a quick response from the host, it was addressed and fixed immediately. My family had the most relaxing getaway and feel recharged physically and mentally as we return to “life.” We would highly recommend the property!

AMAZING ocean view from awesome open living area.... the pool is private to the property however NOT private as it is located beneath a 2 story neighboring property overlooking it. Also for families with more than 2 kids - the "3rd bedroom" is actually a guest house by the pool (with 2 of the beds) which is not clear in the photos. Our kids were not old enuf to sleep over there alone so had to sleep on couches...also no direct beach access but a small beach within easy walking distance. This location was amazing! Grant was very helpful and very accommodating (he was able to give my parents who were staying there late check out). The oceanfront property was spectacular to stay at for those who want to get away from the hustle of Waikiki while staying within walking / short drive distance. The front door was broken and kept on swinging open which was annoying but it was a minor annoyance. The driveway is tight so it’s hard to turn a larger car around. Just FYI for those who plan on staying here. It’s definitely doable but we did use a second person to spot. We will stay here again.

There are so many wonderful things I could write about. The property management company and property manager for the house were helpful, very responsive and easy to reach any time we had questions from the moment we booked to the day we checked out. The house itself is clean, comfortable, and fully stocked to make staying a week or more with our family (incl 2 year old) easy. And the view off the grass is breathtaking. Equally amazing was the pool which we used multiple times a day. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location, everything our family needed was there for us - Private house, kitchen, pool, and a number of parks and an awesome beach that we walked to every day as a family... Hosts were well organized and great to communicate with!

Our experience was wonderful for our first visit to the island. The home was fully stocked, beautiful and the right size for a family of 6. We enjoyed being right off the beach and the pool was perfect for the kiddos. Property manager was also amazing and made everything very seamless. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this location to other family and friends.

Our party of 6 spent 10 wonderful days in this house. The salt water pool was sparkling clean, the kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are very comfortable and the location is highly convenient. Probably one of the best places I’ve stayed in all the years I’ve been renting vacation homes. The communication was also very good.

This vacation beach home was perfect for our family. It was right off the beach and beautiful to watch the sunrise and waves. The pool was bonus and kids loved it. We were right near the diamond head trail which is an absolute must. Everything was fully stocked in the kitchen which it made it easy to eat breakfast everyday and lots of towels for beach plus everything you need was in the garage including chairs, umbrella, water boards, bikes, cooler and toys for the kids to build castles. Their hospitality was also great and very quick and reliable. Thanks again and would definitely stay here again. Was perfect for our first visit to Oahu!

House is cleaned and fully stocked with everything we needed. The views and location are just amazing!! We were close to shops, restaurants and activities that we couldn’t do all we wanted. Will definitely come back!

This was a really great rental and made for a wonderful beach vacation. The house was clean, well maintained, and well stocked. Great for families that want to be at the beach but also need to stay close to the base for little ones. Would happily stay again!

The pics of this property are stunning, but seeing this property in person will amaze you. Grant was our property manager and we managed to lock ourselves out of one of the gates (because we didn’t read the instructions thoroughly). Grant came over right away and helped us out. He gave us a tour of the property and was easy to communicate with throughout the trip. He truly made the experience better than we dreamed! The kitchen was complete with all the appliances, utensils, and cooking needs. There’s a washer/dryer, bikes, floaties, boogie boards in the garage for use. Tons of beach towels too! The location is perfect because it is right at the beginning of Diamond Head towards the end of Waikiki. Convenience is everything. You don’t need to sacrifice choosing a home with a pool or beach because this property has both. We couldn’t help but take sooooo many pics in the backyard because it felt like every hour was “golden hour”. Will definitely be booking this place again, cannot wait to return.
