The house was everything they advertised.  It was the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen.  The view was spectacular and the pool/hot tub were great.   The bedrooms were nice and cool and comfortable and the house was plenty big enough for the ten of us with room to spare.  The beach amenities were a nice surprise - beach chairs/umbrella/plenty of snorkeling equipment/water shoes/toys.  Highly recommend!

Loved the ocean access. We surfed and boogie boarded every day.  Lots of gathering spaces. Loved the bathrooms for each bedroom.  Just wish the property had boogie boards - Costco never disappoints.   The management were very responsive and helpful

We had a fantastic stay at Hale Pua! The home was exactly as described — clean, stylish, and very well maintained. We were absolutely blown away with how nice the home was and the view from the backyard was breathtaking! We even canceled a planned day trip so we could have more time to relax and enjoy this beautiful house. 

Check-in was seamless, and the host Gather was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, with a nice outdoor market within walking distance. It was the perfect base for exploring Kailua-Kona. 

I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Our family had a fantastic time on the Big Island! Hale Pua is a great property. It is well stocked with everything you need for a large group. It is great to wake up everyday and enjoy the beauty of the ocean as you sit and on the patio with the ocean in your backyard. The location is near shopping and restaurants. The host was very easy to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend for a larger group. Mahalo!

The house was fabulous! Four families, 8 adults and 7 kids! Space for all! Kitchen was well equiped, everything worked well, and extremely clean, and well decorated! Hated to leave!

SPECTACULAR is the only way to describe the Hale Pua house! Our family of 11 with ages 6-65 stayed here to celebrate my husband and my 40th wedding anniversary. From the minute you walk through the front door, you can see the ocean. This home is truly ocean front. The patio, pool and spa all face the ocean. We loved watching the sunset every night, and the waves occasionally crashing over the retaining wall. Our sons bought a fishing pole and caught fish right off the patio. With 5 bedrooms each with an en-suite, everyone was comfortable. The Ohana suite was perfect for our daughter, son-in-law and their sons ages 11 and 6. Waking up to the magnificent ocean view from the master suite upstairs was wonderful! The kitchen with its soaring ceiling filled the home with natural light. It is well stocked with every kitchen tool . Two washers, two dryers, two refrigerators, two dishwashers, this home is perfect for a large group. The theater was great for family popcorn and movie nights. Another nice amenity was the beach toys, chairs , umbrellas, towels and snorkel gear, provided free for your use. The communication with Gather and Elite was easy and prompt. Situated on Ali’i Drive in the heart of Kona, this house is close to shops and restaurants. We liked the gated entrance and private parking. Everyone agreed the Hale Pua house made our family trip AMAZING!! and our anniversary truly unforgettable.

This was our second time staying at Hale Pua through Elite Pacific Vacations and Gather Vacations, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. I brought my entire family—13 of us—including my granddaughter (just 16 months old), our 20- and 30-somethings, myself, and even my ex-husband. That alone should say something about the magic of this place! Hale Pua has an incredible way of bringing everyone together while giving us all the space we need. The house is breathtaking. With soaring ceilings and expansive ocean-facing windows, you’re wrapped in light and serenity from the moment you walk in. It’s so spacious that there were times some of us wouldn’t cross paths for hours—which speaks volumes for a group of 13! The kitchen is a dream for any culinary enthusiast, equipped with double refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, and even refrigerated beverage drawers. There are two breakfast bars, a generous indoor dining space, and outdoor dining that easily fit us all. The layout is perfect for large families or groups who enjoy cooking and sharing meals together. Each bedroom is generously sized with high ceilings, big windows, and its own ensuite bathroom—even the office has one! We especially loved the media room with seating for 12, and the game/rec room that opens to the front yard—perfect for a bit of fun and play. The home is right on the ocean, and we went snorkeling directly out front. Gated for privacy, you truly feel like you're in your own peaceful sanctuary. What really sets Hale Pua apart, though, is the unparalleled service. Anytime we had a question or need, the management team responded within 30 minutes. Their communication and attentiveness are rare these days, and it's clear they care deeply about every guest's experience. Honestly, I was hesitant to write this review—not because we didn’t love it, but because I almost want to keep Hale Pua a secret. But it’s only right to give credit where it’s due. This home has given us cherished memories, and we’re already planning our next return. Fall in love with Hale Pua like we have. You won’t regret it. It was wayyyy more than we needed for just two of us, but we had an amazing time. The views are fabulous at any time of day or night, but my favorites were the evening sunset ones. The property was immaculate and extremely well equipped with everything you would need to host a large group of friends or family. And the lanai,with outdoor dining and deck chairs, m pool and hot tub were the cherry on top. This property’s it all in a great location, was easily accessed with plenty of parking and, a huge kitchen, 2 sets of washer/dryers, loads of bedrooms and space for everyone to spread out and relax. Not to mention the full wall sliding glass doors and direct ocean frontage. I highly recommend it.

Oh my gosh this was the Best vacation ever! We bought food to cook and never had to leave the property our entire stay there. We had a semi beach for the kids and adults to play in. And every thing else and then some was right there. The View and home were absolutely stunning. Thank you, our stay was worth every single penny.

Our group of three families had a great time at Hale Pua. Large, comfortable, well-stocked. The house is on a busy street but road noise was never a problem. The location is great for exploring the island. Would definitely recommend and return if we get the chance.

For a family of sixteen with eight adults and 8 kids this home was perfect for our vacation. The pictures on the listing can’t possibly depict how beautiful this home actually is and how breathtaking the views are from the backyard. The home was very clean and well maintained. There is more than adequate space inside and out for a large family. The property management team is top notch and quickly addressed any issues. They checked in on us several times and were very responsive and professional. We do a family vacation every other year with our kids and grandkids and this location/home is tops on our list.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house right on the water! The sound of the waves was so peaceful. The house had all the amenities we could ask for - and more! When we had any questions, Gather responded quickly to us with answers. The location was perfect and private, and the sandy beach was only a very short distance to walk. We would recommend this place, and Gather, to anyone!

Very nice setting, good parking, plenty of space for everyone. For a large group, it worked out well. 4 families, 12 people, and it did not feel crowded. The kitchen was well-appointed, however rice cooker did not work. House right on the ocean so beautiful views, sounds of waves crashing. Minor issue with the hot tub, the managers quickly resolved. Good location

We rented this house with a day's notice. Our flight was canceled and our family of 12 suddenly was without accommodations. Not only was the house everything that we needed as a large family, but the management company was outstanding and made the rental process fast and easy. When half of our family had a new flight cancelation once again, we needed to extend our visit by a day, and even that process was made easy. They went over and above to accommodate us at a time when we were all feeling in a panic. You won't go wrong renting this house!

The home was as advertised. We had plenty of room and beds for 5 couples. We spent many evenings eating outside and enjoying the beautiful sunset and view. The theater room was a bonus and a great place for our group to take in a movie. We had a fabulous time and Hale Pua met or exceeded our expectations.

We loved our stay at Hale Pua! Beautiful, spacious, and comfortable accommodations and absolutely breathtaking views! Waves crashing over the seawall, sunrises and sunsets and so much more. Close to downtown Kona, yet completely private. Our young grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the media room of course! The adults were thrilled with the setting. We had a wonderful time! Beautiful property in a great location! Loved the pool and hot tub and the backyard had enough grass for the kids to play soccer and football. Snorkeling was great along with the fishing in the ocean behind the home. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of fourteen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Being in Hawaii alone is breathtaking, but to have this house and this view just made our trip that much better. This house is even more beautiful in person!! It’s an actual dream home, I can’t recommend it enough. Or family of 16 fit perfectly and everyone was so impressed by how gorgeous it was. The management team was also so amazing and helpful every step of the way. Highly recommend to anyone taking a big group trip!!

We stayed here with 3 teenagers and three small children. The pool was great and the view of the water from the backyard was amazing. We loved the kitchen and the master bedroom suite. Had one question for management and they responded very quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

I highly recommend this place. The sunsets are postcard worthy. The house has everything you could possibly need. Turtle beach is just a short walk away and we saw multiple turtles there. The waves splash up on the grass in the afternoon which is so cool. Management company is on point with their communication. I could on and on. Would love to come back

This spacious home is located right on the edge of the water providing glorious views and the sound of the sea throughout the day. The home is beautifully equipped with top of the line kitchenware, table top, bedding and furniture. The "theater" room was a bonus. Though we worried about noise from the busy road adjacent to the property, the home was very quiet and peaceful. Terrific location convenient to activities and shopping.

Wish it had a tea pot/kettle. place had everything else, including gorgeous location and space for our large group.

Hale Pua house is spacious and beautifully equipped. The location on the water offers glorious views and the sound of the sea throughout the day. Conveniently located close to town for doing quick errands and visiting the Farmer's Market. The staff at Elite provided excellent support for check in and check out plus checking in with us regularly during our stay. When we had difficulty figuring out a couple of kitchen appliances, Nick from Elite visited promptly to help get everything running efficiently. Excellent customer service.

This is a stellar vacation rental. The location can’t be beat, close to everything but once you close the gate you have total privacy. Well equipped for a multi-family vacation. Views that can’t be beat and even access for swimming just one house away. One of my favorite rentals of all time.

Our stay at Hale Pua was wonderful! We enjoyed the house and amenities tremendously. The view and easy access to the water are truly unbeatable! The decorations and design were impeccably done too! Hale Pua was perfect for eight adults and two little ones. The proximity to town and to swimming/hiking areas was perfect. The property managers were very responsive and attentive. we will hopefully stay here again!

We had 9 adults from 2 families for our kids' wedding! It was perfect! Everyone had their own space and the shared space was awesome! We all loved having coffee in the morning watching the surf and the sunsets were the best part of every day! The owners thoughtfully left everything needed including a bag of coffee for that first day! The kitchen space was perfect for making and serving meals for a crowd. We had a personal chef one day and he had everything he needed and it was great to have a large enough table for us all to sit and enjoy a perfect meal outside. We could not have enjoyed it more!

Everything was perfect. The place is very large and the location is great. Management was available but not intrusive. The pool was a good temperature in December. We couldn't get the kids out of it. I have absolutely no complaints.

We had 11 family members on our trip. The house and grounds gave us space to gather and space to spread out. The house is excellently appointed. The property manager was quick to respond to the small problems. Great place.

Our family enjoyed this beautiful oceanfront home for a week and wished we had stayed longer! A clean, comfortable, well appointed home, conveniently located right on the Kona coast. Our family enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean, gorgeous sunsets and falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf. The kids enjoyed traversing the rocks below and explore the many sea creatures in the tide pools. The management (Nick) was prompt and attentive; accommodated a later check out which was really appreciated as we had a late flight out. We have stayed in multiple vacation homes and this is one we would definitely return to!
