Had a great time.
Cute, charming condo with a great pool and view! Host was great as well and the property managers. We had an issue with the refrigerator and they were out same day and had multiple solutions for us and were very attentive and nice about it.
We had a great time at Kona Makai. Given the price and location, we honestly expected the property to feel a bit shabby, but we were pleasantly surprised. The condo was exactly as represented in the listing. All check-in instructions were provided ahead of time, and the process was smooth and easy.
Traveling with kids, we really appreciated having a kitchen and a laundry room. We also enjoyed having breakfast together as a family on the lanai. While the condo is advertised as family-friendly, it did feel better suited for adults. The pool had fairly strict rules, which is not the fault of the condo owner, but something to keep in mind for families with very young children.
Overall, I would stay here again—likely when my kids are a bit older or if traveling without them.
Check in process was smooth. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed the close ocean view from the public patio. Convenient location.
This was a great location for a stay in Kona. Just minutes away from great shops and restaurants. The unit does have AC in the living room but not in the bed room unlike some other units. The bedroom was a little warm in the early evening but did cool down over the night. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook and make meals. The pool was great and very relaxing. Parking was easy and very accessible. I would stay here again!

The location and accommodations were excellent- loved having coffee and doing our devotions while watching the ocean! The grounds were beautiful also and the unit was well equipped and clean! The updates to the unit were well done and it was perfect that the owners provided boogie boards, beach chairs, and even a large cooler!

Great location
by Sheryl HWe loved the layout and size of the condo and its proximity to all the Kona restaurants and shops. The complex is quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed many hours of serenity on the lanai surrounded by the beautiful, lush, tropical gardens. All the amenities needed for a great stay were provided.

by Kayla LThis stay was perfect! It's close to the very charming downtown, close to all of the activities you'll probably be doing, and it's literally on the ocean. There is AC, ceiling fans, and blackout curtains to keep you cool. The pool and hot tub were awesome and clean, there is a ping pong table, some tennis courts, and they even include snorkeling gear, yoga mats and beach chairs for your stay! They have everything you will need for your stay, there is a full kitchen which includes everything you need to cook. This was a very wonderful very accommodating stay. I really hope we will stay here next year!!

Clean condo in a quiet complex
by Jo OClean condo in a quiet complex. This unit is close to the ocean and you will hear it at night if you sleep with windows open (loved it!). The condo is about 1 to 2 miles away from the shops and restaurants in Kona main tourist area - a bit far for walking to dinner if you want to arrive cute and Ali’i Dr has lots of traffic so be aware if walking.

by Anika FWe had a great time in Kona. The condo is in a good area for accessing Kailua and other points of interest. The Kailua area has numerous restaurants - way more than you can get to in a week stay. It has a nice pool which wasn’t very crowded, especially given the number of visitors right now. The condo has all the amenities as advertised.
We love Kona Makai and this unit is lovely. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Perfect location.

We loved our stay in this beautiful condo. It was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed during our stay. The resort/condo complex was quiet, peaceful, and BEAUTIFUL. We felt like we were in a tropical botanical garden. We enjoyed many sunset views from the seating area by the pool overlooking the ocean. The location was perfect for exploring the Kona coast. Restaurants, grocery, shopping, beaches, and historical sights are all within a few minutes from the condo. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Kona/the surrounding area.
You will not be sorry.
