This gorgeous, newly-remodeled condominium gives you an authentic flavor of Hawaii. You'll love waking up to panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean in this tropical vacation paradise.
Fresh and updated, this beautiful condominium features air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout! The open-concept floor plan is perfect for spending quality time with friends and family. The living room features lots of comfortable seating and lanai access, and the sofa sleeper converts into a queen-sized bed. A breakfast bar off of the kitchen has additional seating for two. The upgraded kitchen includes many utensils and cooking supplies including a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and rice cooker. An in-unit stackable washer and dryer create additional convenience. You'll love the bedroom suite which is furnished with an Eastern King bed, and the bathroom has been upgraded with a large walk-in tiled shower. Cable television, as well as wireless internet, are among the numerous amenities included.
Spend leisurely mornings sipping Kona coffee while watching the whales and dolphins. For your added comfort, the lanai features open-air dining for four and showcases stunning Pacific Ocean views. The Kona Makai community is surrounded by manicured gardens and fragrant tropical flowers. This property has every amenity you could want! Take a swim in the sparkling ocean-view pool. Enjoy soaking in the hot tub, lounging in the cabana, or a cookout in the barbecue area. Get a great workout in the on-site gym, or enjoy using the tennis courts.
Located one mile from a diverse array of dining, shopping, and entertainment in Kailua-Kona means endless opportunities for fun during your vacation. Guests will find the white sands of Honl's Beach less than one mile from Kona Makai. Less than two miles away, Kailua Pier allows access to Hawaii's best scuba diving, big-game fishing, kayaking, dolphin and whale watching, as well as gorgeous sunsets. Kailua-Kona Town has numerous dining options, from shaved ice to gourmet meals, along with farmer's markets, shops, and Historic sites such as Hulihee Palace, Mokuaikaua Church, and Ahu'ena Heiau are also nearby. Golf at Kona Country Club, which is just four miles away.
The Kona Makai community is the perfect home base to explore numerous sites and activities on the Island of Hawaii, such as Volcanoes National Park, Mauna Kea Observatory and so much more.
Please be aware that external concrete repairs (spalling) will be taking place on the complex, which may impact this unit, for several weeks between 2024 and the second quarter of 2025 (excluding major holidays). The work is scheduled to occur Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While we do not control the work schedule, we will pass along updates as more specific details become available. To help offset any inconvenience caused by the construction, we have proactively applied discounts to the rates for stays during this period. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to keep you informed as the timeline becomes clearer.

by Edith G.Loved the condo development. The condo itself had everything we could ever need in the kitchen. Being on vacation any baking was not going to happen. Thank you for all the pots and pans, etc. Pool was wonderful. We spent every evening there. We had breakfast on the deck outside our condo. The only negative was the shower head in the bathroom. It must have gotten clogged up so just a few sprays were working which caused a very intense spray. Abit painful to say the least. Also the hot water supply was very low even without any other appliance using any hot water.
We’re delighted you enjoyed the condo development, the well-equipped kitchen, and spending your evenings at the pool, Edith! Breakfasts on the deck sound like a lovely way to start the day. Your feedback regarding the shower head and hot water is appreciated, and we’ll ensure it’s addressed to improve future stays.
Loved the lanai and the garden views. We anticipated being up higher, but honestly didn’t matter- we had nice sunset views from our lanai. Place was very clean and had everything we needed, including beach towels. Place looks similar to photos, but was a bit smaller than we anticipated. All in all, a good place to rest our heads and explore the island. Mahalo!

Knockout Kona Sunsets
by Chris BIf you enjoy a quiet place to come back to after a day at the beach, a snorkel in the ocean or a beautiful bike ride, Kona Makai is your place. Add to that one of the better spots on the island to watch the sunset, and well, it is a wonderful property. The unit we were in was nicely accommodated as is the entire property. The parking was plentiful. The pool and hot tub were great. As was the common area with multiple gas grills, ping pong table and shared kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Kona Makai very much.

Aside from the great location, there were some unexpected amenities that we came to depend upon (namely, the beach towels, chairs, umbrella, and wheeled cooler). The grounds are immaculate and have a variety of plants that our children loved smelling and talking about. The hosts were communicative and helpful at all times, and would be a pleasure to work with again in the future.

Many great restaurants and activities are nearby, maybe a 1-2 mile walk. the grounds of this unit are beautiful with an ocean view from the lanai. There is a patio right at the oceans edge where the residents gather nightly with a cocktail to watch sunset, everyone was very friendly. There are quiet hours and no flotation devices allowed in the pool, so not sure if appropriate for children. The rental service was easy to work with and there was a great binder with all the info you need provided.

Loved our stay here!! They provide you with everything you need for a perfect beach day and to enjoy a stay. The place was super clean and overall lovely! Areas of improvement include the A/C. We had a one bedroom suite with a pull out couch. The A/C units can only be run one at a time so if our guest on the couch was running the A/C our room would be hot. If you don’t mind sleeping without A/C this shouldn’t be a problem. Secondly, the shower water was warm at best. Wasn’t able to take hot showers but both of those items would not deter us from returning however the price should reflect those issues. Again, lovely place with a great view and plenty of beach gear.
Location was great - modest walk downtown to restaurants and such and quick drive to beaches. Tidepool access was amazing. Waterfront grills were great and a wonderful opportunity to meet other guests while fixing dinner. Pool and hot tub were nice, if a bit small. No splashing/diving rule is an issue for kids but means it's nice for adults to relax by the pool. Rooms were clean, nice and comfortable. Within unit laundry was really handy. Lanai had nice view of garden and ocean. Not inexpensive, but I feel we got our money's worth.

Nice place to stay, it was equipped with everything you would need.
This was a great place to stay for our vacation! Perfectly spacious for my cousin and I and they have many things on hand that you are able to borrow (boogie boards, beach chairs, towels, etc.). About a mile and a half from town and the walk is pretty flat and safe, though can be dark at night. Overall had a great experience here.
The place looked just like the pictures. It was close to lots of activities and good restaurants.

We loved our stay here!! it was so homey and cozy and perfect for my family to come stay.
The place is nice, clean and in a great location and next to the sea. Nice lanai for having breakfast. We really enjoy our stay. Wifi is good, both my wife and I were working remotely there for couple days. Fully equipped kitchen, and also washer and dryer. Instructions are clear, one small tip: stop by the office and check the community map to make sure you know how to get to the unit.
This place was very clean, in a great location, quiet & we enjoyed looking out over the ocean from our lanai. It has all you'd need for a beach day.
