Our stay was peaceful and quiet. Perfect for a small family. Great starter pack with coffee, laundry detergent, dish pods, and paper products. Loved the beach products provided also. Chairs, sand toys, beach umbrellas, wagon, and snorkel gear
This was a nice and quiet place to stay with my little family of 3. Very peaceful and beautiful. Location was great getting to and from places. There were beach towels, sand toys, chairs, umbrellas, even a wagon to use. The host even supplies the house with 2-3 days worth of coffee, laundry detergent, dish pods, and paper products.
Nice condo, close to everything and very comfortable. Great communication with the owner.

We stayed for 14 nights. Our condo was as pictured and described on VRBO. We had a beautiful view and the grounds are beautiful. The pool and hot tub were great.The kitchen was well stocked with all the needed dishes and utensils. The closet of beach supplies was well stocked. The area is beautiful.

by Edith G.Loved the condo development. The condo itself had everything we could ever need in the kitchen. Being on vacation any baking was not going to happen. Thank you for all the pots and pans, etc. Pool was wonderful. We spent every evening there. We had breakfast on the deck outside our condo. The only negative was the shower head in the bathroom. It must have gotten clogged up so just a few sprays were working which caused a very intense spray. Abit painful to say the least. Also the hot water supply was very low even without any other appliance using any hot water.

Loved the lanai and the garden views. We anticipated being up higher, but honestly didn’t matter- we had nice sunset views from our lanai. Place was very clean and had everything we needed, including beach towels. Place looks similar to photos, but was a bit smaller than we anticipated. All in all, a good place to rest our heads and explore the island. Mahalo!

Knockout Kona Sunsets
by Chris BIf you enjoy a quiet place to come back to after a day at the beach, a snorkel in the ocean or a beautiful bike ride, Kona Makai is your place. Add to that one of the better spots on the island to watch the sunset, and well, it is a wonderful property. The unit we were in was nicely accommodated as is the entire property. The parking was plentiful. The pool and hot tub were great. As was the common area with multiple gas grills, ping pong table and shared kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Kona Makai very much.

Aside from the great location, there were some unexpected amenities that we came to depend upon (namely, the beach towels, chairs, umbrella, and wheeled cooler). The grounds are immaculate and have a variety of plants that our children loved smelling and talking about. The hosts were communicative and helpful at all times, and would be a pleasure to work with again in the future.

by Susan MThis condo is located a little south of the main district, which is great for a little quiet from the hustle and bustle. Many great restaurants and activities are nearby, maybe a 1-2 mile walk. the grounds of this unit are beautiful with an ocean view from the lanai. There is a patio right at the oceans edge where the residents gather nightly with a cocktail to watch sunset, everyone was very friendly. There are quiet hours and no flotation devices allowed in the pool, so not sure if appropriate for children. The rental service was easy to work with and there was a great binder with all the info you need provided.

Loved our stay here!! They provide you with everything you need for a perfect beach day and to enjoy a stay. The place was super clean and overall lovely! Areas of improvement include the A/C. We had a one bedroom suite with a pull out couch. The A/C units can only be run one at a time so if our guest on the couch was running the A/C our room would be hot. If you don’t mind sleeping without A/C this shouldn’t be a problem. Secondly, the shower water was warm at best. Wasn’t able to take hot showers but both of those items would not deter us from returning however the price should reflect those issues. Again, lovely place with a great view and plenty of beach gear.
Location was great - modest walk downtown to restaurants and such and quick drive to beaches. Tidepool access was amazing. Waterfront grills were great and a wonderful opportunity to meet other guests while fixing dinner. Pool and hot tub were nice, if a bit small. No splashing/diving rule is an issue for kids but means it's nice for adults to relax by the pool. Rooms were clean, nice and comfortable. Within unit laundry was really handy. Lanai had nice view of garden and ocean. Not inexpensive, but I feel we got our money's worth.

This was a great place to stay for our vacation! Perfectly spacious for my cousin and I and they have many things on hand that you are able to borrow (boogie boards, beach chairs, towels, etc.). About a mile and a half from town and the walk is pretty flat and safe, though can be dark at night. Overall had a great experience here.
The place looked just like the pictures. It was close to lots of activities and good restaurants.

The place is nice, clean and in a great location and next to the sea. Nice lanai for having breakfast. We really enjoy our stay. Wifi is good, both my wife and I were working remotely there for couple days. Fully equipped kitchen, and also washer and dryer. Instructions are clear, one small tip: stop by the office and check the community map to make sure you know how to get to the unit.
This place was very clean, in a great location, quiet & we enjoyed looking out over the ocean from our lanai. It has all you'd need for a beach day.
