This sweet single family home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. In addition there is a comfy punee (daybed) in the living room to lounge and read your favorite book. A favorite feature of many of our guests is the outdoor shower. With a quaint, little yard, a lovely lanai to have your morning coffee or sunset meals, and a covered picnic table, Palaka is a gem in Hanalei. Whether you walk to Hanalei Pier or jump on a cruiser bike and ride to Hanalei town, Palaka will quickly become one of your favorite spots to return to over and over.
Please note, this property is located in a tsunami evacuation zone. Evacuation procedures will be provided to you with your arrival instructions.

Our heaven on earth.

Palaka Cottage is our heaven on earth. We have stayed here twice, extending it much longer the second time. We love the authentic Hawaiian feel of the plantation cottage. It feels like a home away from home with all the amenities you need. The decor is relaxing, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is fully stocked to cook your meals, and we love that there are lots of dining table options (kitchen, lanai, and outdoor picnic table) to change it up. The outdoor shower is great after a sandy day at the beach, and the lanai is a perfect spot to unwind. The location is unbeatable since it is right across the street from the most beautiful beach in the world, and close to Hanalei town. It?s also helpful to have a property manager that made everything seamless for us. We will back again and again to make more family memories! I literally cry when I have to leave this place! My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Palaka Cottage on our first visit to the Hanalei area. It was important to us to be in town and near the bay, rather than up in Princeville. The Palaka Cottage is about as in town as you can get, and the location on Weke Road is one street off the bay. We enjoyed the view of the bay from the front lanai in the morning while we had breakfast and in the evening with mai tai?s. It is a short (2 minute) drive to the restaurants along Kuhio Hwy., a little further to the area beaches (Ke?e, Lumahai) and hiking trails. The Palaka Cottage is as close as you can come to having your own beach house in Hanalei. While it was just the two of us, the cottage would easily sleep four ? a family or two couples. The cottage has everything you need, including a full kitchen, washer and dryer, cable TV and wireless internet ? even beach towels and chairs to use. Joanne at Kauai Island Vacations was a pleasure to work with and answered all of our pre-arrival questions. If you are looking for an alternative to the big resort experience, Palaka Cottage is the place for you.
