This recently remodeled residence is a true oceanfront property and fully equipped with every comfort and convenience. From its unique island-inspired decor to its proximity to the beautiful Pacific Ocean, The Cottage is the ideal place to spend your tropical vacation.
You'll be inspired the moment you enter the The Cottage. In addition to a festive mural, the living room is furnished with comfortable seating, flatscreen TV and spectacular views of the ocean. Relax and unwind inside, or stroll outside to the furnished lanai and listen to the sound of the waves just below.
The kitchen at The Cottage has been beautifully remodeled with new wood cabinetry and granite countertops. Furnished with all large appliances as well as a variety of culinary essentials, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare your favorite meal. Brew a delicious cup of Kona coffee and head outside to the lanai where you can spot whales (when in season) and dolphins in the ocean just beyond.
When you're ready for a peaceful night of rest, the primary bedroom provides an inviting retreat. Sleep with the windows open in this cozy ocean view room, where the sounds of the waves will lull you into a relaxing sleep. The primary bedroom is furnished with a plush California King bed, a ceiling fan, split system air conditioning (installed 2023) and a large flatscreen TV. A small built-in desk allows space for work, or for writing postcards to your friends and family to share with them the beauty of The Cottage.
You'll love the remodeled bathroom, which features a large oversized shower, lots of counter space and an abundance of fluffy cotton towels. Additional amenities at The Cottage include a washing machine and dryer, split system air conditioning, Wifi, and Internet-enabled satellite cable TV.
Outdoors at The Cottage you'll find tropical beauty everywhere you look. Relax on the oversized lanai which is furnished with chaise lounges and ample seating. The lanai is the perfect spot for sunning, or for hosting an al fresco dinner party for your family and friends. Just a few steps down the shoreline is Kahalu'u Beach State Park, which is known for its encounters with the majestic Hawaiian Sea Turtles.
The Cottage is a ten-minute drive to downtown Kailua-Kona, where you'll find a variety of things to do and see. You'll love exploring the area and its many significant Hawaiian cultural landmarks. Both the Hulihee Palace and the Mokuaikaua Church are located on Ali'i Drive. King Kamehameha I spent his last years living near the current site of what is now the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, until his passing in 1819. The Ahu'ena Heiau, located on the grounds of the hotel, is a reconstructed temple rebuilt by the late king and is on the register of National Historic Landmarks.
People and cruise ships watch from the Kailua-Kona Pier, where you'll have access to Hawaii's best scuba diving, big-game fishing, kayaking, and dolphin and whale watching. Visit the famous farmers market. Enjoy a shave ice or a cup of Kona coffee. Dine on a light snack or a gourmet meal, buy an inexpensive souvenir or a piece of fine art, book an activity, go for a swim or hang out at the beach. The pier is the official starting and finishing point of the Ironman World Championship (held annually in October), and a great place to watch the sunset. Everything you want and need is readily available in the heart of Kailua Kona town!

The Cottage is truly magical. The lanai makes it feel like you are living directly on the ocean. Leaving all the windows and doors open to hear the waves all night was powerful. It was almost like sleeping outside under the stars! The place is also walking distance to a sweet beach where the sea turtles greeting us. Another beach nearby was busy with snorkelers and surfers who were fun to watch from the lanai. The beach just down the way toward the village was fun for body surfing. And a quick drive into the village allows for lovely dinners every night. The Cottage also had plenty of goodies necessary for beach fun, snorkel gear and beach chairs. And the side yard feels lovely and private for sunbathing. We loved every minute and we will be back!

Fantastic and quiet location. Walkable. The kind of place to be away from tourist activities. It is as advertised on the ocean you can hear waves either on the deck or in the bedroom. Two minor things there is a light out on the back porch and a light out in the kitchen fan.

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful house! Location was amazing, down the street from a beach with great snorkeling, we were able to use the gear from the house and walk there, I went twice! A 10-15 minute drive into town. Easy marked spot for parking our rental car. The view was spectacular with great sunsets off the porch. Loved watching the surfers every day. Kitchen very well stocked, definitely the best I’ve seen. The waves break right on the rocks below the house and can be a little loud since you have to leave the window open for air, but the view is worth it! It was a clean and beautiful house, we loved it and would recommend!

The property is quite literally on the water, so expect sublime views and the deafening sounds of crashing waves. The property can be somewhat hot and muggy indoors despite the constant sea breeze. Fans are available and definitely required for a comfortable night’s sleep. Lots of bugs here despite the numerous roach and ant traps, but that’s to be expected given the proximity to the ocean. The kitchen was excellently stocked. The proximity to shops and restaurants in Kona are a huge plus. Overall a lovely stay.

Perfect place to kick back and feel at home
by Mark SThe checkin process was exchanging COVID vaccination information and getting the key code. Once I we unpacked and got groceries we felt like we were at home. The place was clean, safe and private. The TV broke and was replaced in less than 24 hours ! Great trip ! First in 1.5 years and would do it again in a heartbeat. The waves lulled us to sleep every night.

Very clean and well equipped. The waves crashing against the rocks can be quite loud, but we were still able to sleep well. Location is tremendous.
Ocean front gem!!
by Amy LWe loved staying at this cottage. The lanai hangs right over the ocean - listening the the crashing waves and seeing the beautiful sunsets every night. Our favorite part was watching the surfers out in the bay and walking right the best snorkel beach on the island.

When we arrived, the house was HOT, opened all the windows and doors and within 10 minutes the house was at a reasonable temp. Great location. 10/10 would stay again.
